eh ?

has this turned into a test match ?

thought we were here for fair play on colo(u)red clay, which isn’t quite the same as tennis with a cricket ball, surely ?

  1. Well, we’re part way through the 2nd Test here at Old Trafford, and New Zealand in England’s 3rd Test is set for Trent Bridge from 5th-9th June if you’re liking the harder ball to play with by then – but personally prefer to hold off the cucumber sandwiches until South Africa in England during July/August, and so catch the Roland Garros as originally planned

  2. our google calendar’s saying that the (ad)mixed doubles championship is due to take place on 4th June – which technically means we can leave our options open, right? particularly given the euro star from kings cross into paris has proven so reliable of late – in fact, any excuse for a train ride would suit me just fine at this stage in the proceedings

  3. Ahh, you mean any excuse for leaving the country dear Panda? We could always try putting the kettle on again for you, even if it is for just one cup at a go? Agree that some nations seem to be better at some things than others, but with the Olympics in China this year, our pidgeon does have more than an outside chance of getting a Golden Slam in before we’re through

  4. Wouldn’t like to bet on it Polly – that protection racket is pretty highly strung as it is, and Natasha does like to throw in the odd hard ball just for fun as we all know – might not end up getting a clean sweep first time through, so suggest playing a longer term game from the outset – which, in fairness, we have been in all good faith

  5. Indeed.

  6. ho hum – guess it’ll have to be a movie then, until natasha starts putting her cards on the table

  7. oh, what we wouldn’t give to show-and-tell those cards eh?

  8. what we wouldn’t (un)give …

  9. oops! have just updated our calendar – mixed doubles finals is scheduled for the 5th, not the 4th – haven’t checked the euro star timetables yet, but looks as if we may have to miss the first day of the 3rd Test at best (radio coverage is usually most secure anyways imho, twitter or no twitter)

  10. radio m(a)y well be ideal – from popping up to podcasting – the aporia (un)slot could then go on roadshow without missing a single beating – which certainly keeps me happy, for the record, that is

  11. Jolly good – let’s say that’s agreed then (before the dear lady changes her mind, so to speak) – and here’s watching this space :-)

  12. or (un)deal …

  13. [...] emptor: this is not a this-is-not-a-game, albeit this m(a)y be a cricket ball if and only if this is not a caper, nor about any particular denial of caper as such; (un)unfiction rules hereafter, for the time [...]
